EY & AHB advised the export credit agencies on the €2.7 billion (NT$94 billion) project financing of wpd AG’s 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind project off the coast of Yunlin County in western Taiwan. To date, this is the largest offshore wind farm in Asia-Pacific to reach financial close.

7 December 2016 Led by corporate Partner Dr. Benjamin Waitz AHB has advised private equity Investor BID Equity on the acquistion of Midoco GmbH, a software company based in Hilden, Germany.
Since its foundation in 2005, Midoco evolved to Germany’s leading midoffice software for the travel industry. Main customer segments include business and leisure travel agencies, online travel agencies, virtual tour operators as well as mobile travel service operators. In 2015 alone, transactions worth 7.8 billion Euro were executed through Midoco’s SaaS solution.
The three co-founders and Managing Directors of Midoco, Steffen Faradi, Marcus Haarmann, and Jörg Hauschild will remain significant shareholders of the company. The transaction became effective on 6 December 2016.

Liwa Plastics Industries Complex financed
13 March 2015 Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company SAOC (Orpic) has closed a USD 3.8 billion project financing facility for its approx. USD 6.5 billion Liwa Plastics Industries Complex in the Sohar Industrial Port Complex (LPIC) in the Sultanate of Oman.
The financing is supported by Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) representing the governments of Germany (Euler Hermes), Italy (SACE), Korea (K-Exim and K-Sure), the Netherlands (Atradius Dutch State Business) and the United Kingdom (UKEF), along with 19 international, regional and local commercial lenders.
The financing was completed on an accelerated basis to ensure compatibility with the project’s ambitious construction schedule. Commissioning of the project is scheduled for 2020.
With their EY & AHB have supported the ECAs as ECA Coordinator, providing interdisciplinary due diligence support, financial analysis, transaction management and negotiation support. In addition EY & AHB have acted as Independent Chartered Auditor for the Federal German Government.
